Let’s face it, the number one reason we all choose to get involved in Teaching English as a Second Language is the travelling. TEFL teachers are usually people who have a passion for travelling and who experience itchy feet quite regularly. Before you even start looking for jobs, you’re probably deciding where it is you would like to go. There may be many different factors which affect this decision, but one of those is undoubtedly financial. Even though we may love travelling, it is money which enables us to live the lifestyle we want.
So there are two possible routes to go down. The one involves working hard and earning hard, but not having much time outside of teaching. You are effectively saving up to spend your cash at a later date. The other is to work but enjoy your lifestyle at the same time; to teach but also be able to have a good lifestyle and enjoy your time off.
If you’re looking for the latter, we have a few of our favourite cheap TEFL destinations, where you may not earn tons of cash but you will certainly earn enough to live well and enjoy your experience.
