With literally thousands of TEFL course providers around the world and online, deciding which TEFL course is right for you can be quite a headache. Since you are spending your valuable time and hard-earned cash on whichever course you choose, it’s understandable that you want to be sure you are making the right choice.
So how do you know which is the right TEFL course for you?
There are a number of factors you need to consider when choosing a TEFL course, such as cost, format (online, face-to-face, or both), content and accreditation. Don’t let the choices overwhelm you, but take the time to compare courses so you know what you are getting for your money. Most of all, though, be sure to pick a course which suits you and you current situation. There’s no point signing up for a 4-week fulltime course if you have a job, for example, just like you should think again before paying for an online course if you know you’d rather be binge-watching Love Island. But the question is still Why is the TEFL Academy so popular?
Ok we may be a little bit biased but we recommend The TEFL Academy to anyone who will listen. But you don’t have to take our word for it. Out of 1 818 reviews on Reviews.io, we have been given a 4.9 rating, with 100% of reviewers claiming they would recommend The TEFL Academy. We are even described as “splendid”, “excellent” and “brilliant” – and no, those aren’t our mums.
Want to know why?
Our courses are accredited Level 5 courses
We all know that no two TEFL courses are the same, which can be a problem if you sign up for a TEFL course which is not up to scratch. Buying a cheap TEFL course is like buying a lemon of a second-hand car. You’ve spent the money and you have a car, but it’s no good for anything, so you end up spending more money on another car that actually does what’s it’s supposed to.
Don’t be tempted by websites with too-good-to-be-true offers. Do your homework and make sure your course is accredited.
The TEFL Academy courses are regulated by Ofqal (a UK government department), awarded by Qualifi (a UK government recognized awarding body), and DEAC-approved as meeting the criteria for Approved Curriculum Quality status. The DEAC is a U.S. Department of Education National Accreditor.
In a nutshell, we are accredited both in the U.K. and the U.S. and our courses are the equivalent to a diploma of higher education, a foundation degree and the CELTA and Trinity CertTESOL qualifications.
Our trainers are EFL professionals
All of our trainers are qualified TEFL teachers. They are not just teachers, or travelers – they are TEFL teachers. They have worked all around the world in a range of teaching contexts. They have done the TEFL course, planned the lessons, taught the classes. They have walked the walk, talked the talk, and lived the life.
As a result, they have first-hand knowledge of what it means and what it takes to do a TEFL course, be a TEFL teacher and live the TEFL life. There are no better people to help you through this process than our team.
We don’t leave you hanging
We have a team of dedicated tutors who will respond to any queries you may have within 24 hours – and probably a lot quicker. We understand that doing an online course can be lonely and we realise the importance of support. Online courses can be daunting if you feel like you won’t have anyone to chat to you about your problems, which is exactly why our tutors are here, to make sure you never feel like you’re stuck.
Also we have a Learning Centre where you can find articles on all things TEFL which will probably answer questions you didn’t know you had.
We wrote the book on TEFL
Literally. We have just published the TEFL World Factbook 2019. It includes all the information you want to know on countries around the world: average salaries, hiring seasons, visa requirements, living costs – you name it, we’ve got you covered.
We are everywhere
The TEFL Academy has more global course locations than any other TEFL course provider. We have 70 courses running in locations around the world every month. We offer more internship positions and advertise more jobs than anyone else. This all means that we have more TEFL graduates and more TEFL teachers teaching around the world.
All things considered, don’t you want to join our TEFL family?
