CILA were established in 2013 and are the ONLY provider of the Trinity College London CERTTESOL and Dip TESOL in India. Over 700 students have graduated from their courses, as well as 15000• students who have received IELTS qualifications.
They now have a fantastic internship opportunity and are looking for enthusiastic and committed UK graduates who would like to come to Kerala, qualify as an English Language Teacher with a globally recognised qualification and then spend 9 months teaching English at local schools there. If you have a passion for teaching English and wish to immerse yourself in the rich and diverse culture of Southern India, seize this fantastic opportunity to establish a career in teaching!
No prior experience needed, you just need to be a UK passport holder with a UK Bachelor degree, loads of enthusiasm and passion to teach English and make a huge and worthwhile difference to people’s lives.
Where is Kerala?
Kerala is a coastal state in Southern India with over 400m of shoreline. It is known for its palm lined beaches, backwaters and canals. The weather is always warm and it is incredibly safe.
What is the Trinity College London CertTESOL?
The Trinity College London Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (Trinity CertTESOL) is an internationally accepted teaching qualification. It is a Level 5 on Ofqual’s Regulated Qualifications Framework, a comparable level to the second year of an undergraduate degree and is particularly recommended for anyone looking to enter the field of teaching English or master their English language skills, especially as a foreign or second language. The Trinity College London CertTESOL is accepted by both the British Council and other international teaching organisations around the world as an English language teaching certification.
What are the joining dates?
You would need to be available to join either on the 18th March or 29th April. Your Trinity TESOL course will last approx. 5 weeks and then you will start to teach! Your teaching internship will last 9 months and you will get full support from local teachers and experienced Trinity TESOL trainers. At the end of your internship, CILA will also give you an all expenses paid, 5 day holiday to show you the sights of Kerala!
Your role as a teacher:
- Teaching maximum 5hrs per day
- Monday to Friday
- Self motivated and very respectful students aged between 4 – 15
What is included:
- Guaranteed 9 month teaching placement at a local school in Kerala
- Free single accommodation incl all bills close to your school
- Free 3 meals per day or food allowance up to INR 10000 per month
- Free transport to school and back
- Full reimbursement of your Trinity TESOL course fees at the end of your internship (£1400)
- Full reimbursement of your flight costs at the end of your internship (Up to £600)
- Full reimbursement of your student visa costs at the end of your internship (Approx £150)
- £250 per month spending money (Kerala is incredibly cheap when compared to the UK, around 80% lower so this is a lot of spending money!!)
