TEFL Course Information

The TEFL Academy runs regular 120-hour TEFL courses in Aberdeen and across the rest of the UK. Enrol today to receive in-depth tuition from the leading provider of TEFL courses in the country. The combined 120-hour course has been designed to create confident EFL teachers with the understanding, expertise and globally recognised qualification they need to succeed around the world.

Affordable, accessible and accredited, this course will equip you with everything TEFL employers look for. Qualifications with 120-hours of study that include 20-hours of classroom tuition are often preferred by employers, rather than courses studied completely online. That’s why The TEFL Academy's fully accredited combined course is made up of two important elements:

  • A 20-hour classroom-taught TEFL course in Aberdeen (lasts one weekend)
  • 100-hours of online study to develop the skills learned in your classroom session (lasts on average between 4-6 weeks)

After you have successfully concluded both parts of the course you will be awarded your qualification – a 120-hour TEFL certificate. With this qualification you can begin searching for EFL teaching placements in the UK and right across the globe. We have links to language schools all over the world, giving our graduates access to the exclusive TEFL Jobs Board.

Looking forward to getting started with TEFL? Aberdeen courses are now open for reservation! Book more than 2 weeks ahead and your deposit will be just £50! (Access to the online course is provided on receipt of the full balance payment).

“The TEFL Academy is accredited by TQUK, an Ofqual regulated awarding body.”

Course options explained

With so much choice and such a vast amount of conflicting information available on the Internet it can be difficult for potential TEFL course students to make the correct choice. You should ensure that your TEFL course includes 120-hours of TEFL tuition, as this is the international standard for entry level teaching positions.

You will see many courses available that are shorter than 120-hours, these options are TEFL taster courses and will not be accepted by most employers. We have never seen a job that requires more than 120-hours of TEFL tuition.

If you feel you would benefit from face-to-face tuition, including the opportunity to practice all you have learnt in the classroom, you should choose a combined 120-hour TEFL course with 20-hours of face-to-face training. Combined courses may be preferred by some employers.

Tutor

Ann Charoux, TEFL Trainer

Ann was teaching and living overseas in Mauritius, Zurich, Paris and Chicago until 2012

She fell in love with ESOL teaching/training quite by chance and initially worked as a volunteer in Africa (South Africa, Swaziland, Zimbabwe and Zambia). She’s experienced in teaching children, teenagers and adults from beginner to advance level and from basic conversation to language for specific business needs as well, of course, as teacher training. She loves to keep fit and is an avid swimmer as well as having a love of cooking; even if it doesn’t turn out how she hoped it would!
