Absolutely! Being a native speaker is NOT a requirement to be a TEFL teacher. On the flip side, being a native speaker of English does NOT mean you will be a good TEFL teacher.
In order to teach English, you need to have a recognised TEFL qualification under your belt. This qualification should cover all the basics of teaching English as a foreign language, as well as provide you with advice on planning lessons, sourcing and creating TEFL materials – and finding a job.
