A journalist who wrote a new story as a teacher Paloma Tiba
My name is Mandana Ghorbanzadeh, I am 44 years old and originally I am Persian.
I am not a native English speaker, but I am considered bilingual because from childhood I started to talk to my parents in English. Then I went to different private language schools in my free time. Learning English from an early age motivated me to be interested in English more and more, so I started to move forward with English more seriously. I continued my education at the university where I studied languages with a focus on English. From that time, because of my strong background in English, I was even helping to teach my classmates.
Then I continued teaching but as a marginal job. My main job was working in the tourism sector as a tour leader/guide and hospitality worker as I have also studied tourism management. When I saw that all my students were so happy with the method of my teaching, it motivated me to follow English teaching as my main job. Therefore I decided to obtain the necessary certificate because just success practically is not enough to convince the schools or even direct clients to trust you!
I surfed and searched on the internet a lot to find the best centres which provide us the related courses and then give us a reliable certificate. Finally, I found The Tefl Academy and I saw all reviews about this centre were positive, so I decided to enrol on the online Level 5 TEFL course with them. I passed the 168-hour intensive online course which had lots of information that added to my knowledge. I am so satisfied with The TEFL Academy.
Now I am searching to find a school and even more private students. Before that, I was collaborating with different private schools in Italy, Iran, and Turkey and teaching some private students which I found by myself. My students were of all different ages. Now due to the recent pandemic, I teach some of my classes online.
I live in Italy now and in the beginning, the only source of my income after immigrating to Italy was teaching. Since the world is moving toward globalisation, knowing different languages is not an advantage but it is a MUST. If you know other languages, teaching can help you a lot both financially and spiritually. Having an accredited teaching certificate can help you to create trust in your students.
Personally, I prefer teaching teenagers and adults rather than children because teaching to children is so difficult and takes energy but it is fun. My prospect in business is not limited just to teaching but establishing my own schools. In the end, if you are interested in sharing your knowledge with others while simultaneously earning money at any age, I recommend you start teaching with a credible certificate.
