What’s the difference between EFL and ESL?

EFL stands for English as a foreign language, while ESL stands for English as a second language. ESL learners are learning English as a second language, while EFL learners are learning English as a third, fourth or even fifth language. There is no difference in terms of teaching methods or techniques.
