Education
This is intended for post-16 learners who want to progress directly to employment or self-employment in the outdoor activities sector as an outdoor activities instructor. Progress to several different higher-education courses or to work in the outdoor activities sector in associated roles, such as business support, sports development, tourism and events I received Triple Merit.
Experience
I am currently working at a large pub on the historical Poole quay,
my responsibilities included deliveries, good customer service,
booking events and music acts, helping with the social media.
After finishing college in the summer of 2016, studying outdoor
adventurous activities, I used my qualifications to work teaching sailing
and windsurfing. I taught between the ages of 6-70, this is where I really
learnt how to manage big groups of people and how to adapt my
teaching style to fit the clients I worked with. I taught from very
beginners to advance courses. I really enjoyed this role and worked my
way up the company. I started as an assistant instructor and by the end
of my time I was in charge of planning and running the whole day from
the office. I was in charge of planning work schedules, running
sessions, I was the face of customer service working behind the desk
making sure everyone was happy both staff and customers. Customer
service skills and health and safety were the most import aspect of this
role. I was put on many different courses when working here: 3x
customer services courses, 3x health and safety courses, 3 x BOFA
courses, 2 x fire martial courses, 1 x archery course, 4 x Climbing
courses, 1 x air rifle shooting course, 1 x gun safety course.
