Education
A practice-based fine art programme in which I developed my own work, alongside presenting and participating in cross-area seminars and tutorials. The academic component, Critical Studies, taught skills such as verbal debate, planning & delivering dyanmic oral presentations, website design and critical essay writing. I also learnt professional writing skills such as artist statements, press releases and biographies.
Experience
Working as the facilitator for an after school Clay Modelling Club at a primary school mteaching students from the ages 4-11 how to use clay and paint, preparing materials and plans for lessons, and managing the behaviour of students.
Work experience as a teaching assisstant, giving one-to-one tutoring for students' individual projects, helping them understand and get started on assignments and source materials and references.
Four years of running the Uckfield College Ukulele Ensemble that I founded at my secondary school. Teaching students how to play the instrument, create their own musical arrangements and perform at college events, as well as preparing materials & lesson ideas on a weekly basis.
Accreditation & Quality Assurance
The TEFL Academy was the world’s first TEFL course provider to receive official recognition from government regulated awarding bodies in both the USA and UK. This means when you graduate you’ll hold a globally recognised Level 3 (120hr) Certificate or Level 5 (168hr) Diploma, meaning you can find work anywhere and apply for jobs immediately.
