I undertook research in Language Planning and Education. My thesis and fieldwork were focused on the value of language documentation to Tamahaq revitalisation. The research was much focused on exploring the circumstances of language endangerment for the Tamahaq language by using the UNESCO scale of vitality. The research aimed at investigating the contribution of language documentation in the overall revitalization effort of Tamahaq due to the fact that the speaker base is continuously eroding. The fieldwork was conducted in the Southern part of Algeria with the indigenous population of Tuareg helped gather more primary reliable information on the situation of Tamahaq and circumstances of endangerment.
