DescriptionHagwons (Private Academies)
• Pros: Year-round hiring, faster placement, higher starting salaries, smaller classes.
• Cons: Evenings/weekend hours, schedules vary by school.
• Teaching Hours: ~25–30 teaching hours per week (about 120–150 hrs/month).
• Schedule: Afternoon–evening shifts; some schools may include Saturdays.
• Students: Kindergarten, elementary, or middle school depending on the academy.

EPIK (Public Schools)
• Pros: Stable hours (Mon–Fri), paid vacation, government benefits, larger teaching community.

• Teaching Hours: 22 class hours per week (about 88 hrs/month), plus prep time.

RequirementsMust hold a passport from one of the following native English-speaking countries: USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, or New Zealand
- Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (any major accepted)
- Must have a clean national criminal background check with apostille
- Must be mentally and physically healthy and able to adapt to life in Korea
-Must have no serious medical or legal issues that would affect visa approval
-TEFL certificate recommended (required for some positions)
- Must be able to commit to a 12-month contract
- Must have strong interest in teaching, cultural exchange, and working with young learners
- Must meet the visa requirements for the E-2 teaching visa or F-series visa -
