DescriptionThe Secondary English Teacher is responsible for delivering effective and engaging English language instruction to school students. This role involves creating a positive and stimulating learning environment, designing age-appropriate lesson plans, assessing student progress, and fostering a love for reading, writing, speaking, and listening in the English language.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum Development and Lesson Planning:
- Develop and implement engaging and well-structured lesson plans aligned with the school's English curriculum and educational standards.
- Integrate various teaching methods, technologies, and resources to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
- Utilize a variety of teaching materials, including textbooks, worksheets, multimedia resources, and real-life examples.
2. Instruction and Classroom Management:
- Deliver lessons that promote active student participation, critical thinking, and skill development in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages respect, collaboration, and cultural sensitivity.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, employing discipline strategies that are consistent with the school's policies and guidelines.
3. Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
- Design and administer formative and summative assessments to evaluate students' language proficiency and track their progress over time.
- Analyze assessment results to identify learning gaps and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their assignments, projects, and assessments.
4. Individualized Support:
- Identify students who require additional support or enrichment and develop personalized learning plans to address their needs.
- Collaborate with special education teachers, learning support staff, and parents to ensure that students with diverse learning requirements receive appropriate assistance.
5. Parent and Stakeholder Communication:
- Establish open lines of communication with parents and guardians through regular meetings, emails, and reports to discuss students' academic progress and areas for improvement.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school events to foster a strong home-school partnership.
6. Professional Development:
- Stay updated on the latest trends, research, and best practices in English language teaching through continuous professional development.
- Attend workshops, conferences, and training sessions to enhance teaching skills and pedagogical knowledge.
7. Extracurricular Activities:
- Contribute to the school's extracurricular activities, such as literary clubs, writing competitions, drama performances, and language-related events.

Requirements- Bachelor's degree
- TEFL level 5
- Strong command of the English language, both spoken and written
- Proficiency in using educational technologies and teaching tools
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Patience, creativity, and adaptability in working with young learners
- Knowledge of child development principles and pedagogical techniques
- Familiarity with curriculum development and assessment methods -
