The IIE Bachelor of Education (BEd) in Foundation Phase Teaching (FPT) is an undergraduate professional qualification aimed at preparing graduates to teach learners from Grades R to 3. This four-year Bachelor’s degree is structured in accordance with the Department of Higher Education and Training’s (DHET) Minimum Requirements for Teacher Education Qualifications (MRTEQ) (2015). It is also aligned with the new Higher Education Qualifications Sub- Framework’s (HEQSF) guidelines. The degree equips Foundation Phase classroom teachers with the knowledge, skills and applied competencies for employability and further specialization studies, in support of the principles of life-long learning.

I served as a Grade 1-3 educator teaching English, Afrikaans, Life Skills and
Mathematics. I create lesson plans using the Curriculum of
Assessment Policy and Inclusive education. Additionally, I conduct parents meetings, train learners for sports and musical activities

I taught Grade 3 English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, Life Skills and Music. I also
assisted in the school lunch program and school concert. Furthermore, I
taught, organized and participated in the construction of garden boxes for
the Seaview Primary environment club.

I served as a student educator teaching Grade 2 remedial reading lessons,
creating resources and lesson plans that accommodate diversity

I taught Grade R Mathematics, English and Life Skills. Furthermore, I assisted
in organizing activities, designing lesson plans and assisting in the cultural
day excursion at the Hare Krishna Temple in Chatsworth
