This opportunity goes far beyond teaching English—it’s a chance to empower young learners, open doors to brighter futures, and make a real difference in a local community. Where You’ll Be Teaching
Your placement will be in the Dhading District, located west of Kathmandu. After airport pickup, you'll be shown around the local area to help you acclimate before traveling to your host village. During your stay, you’ll live with a local homestay family—an experience that provides not only accommodation and meals but also a deep cultural exchange and connection to everyday life in Nepal.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Volunteer for approximately 5.5 days per week
- School hours typically run from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm
- Minimum commitment of 2–3 months (longer stays are welcomed and encouraged)
- Teach up to five English language classes daily, with around 15 students per class
- Focus primarily on students from grades K–3, with occasional lessons for grades up to 10
- Create engaging lessons using the resources available, adapting your plans to suit your students' needs
- Get involved in extracurricular activities like conversation sessions or family meet-ups
Your Role as a Volunteer
As a TEFL volunteer, your responsibilities will include preparing and delivering English lessons, supporting the existing curriculum, and developing creative teaching materials. You’ll be a valuable presence in the classroom and beyond—as you engage students and contribute to the overall learning environment. -
