For example, there might be a track called "teaching online" under which all presentations will be related to online teaching.
These days the TEFL market, whether online or abroad, is far different than the TEFL market 10 years ago. A lot has changed, for better or worse, but opportunities remain galore. To remain competitive, you need to know the latest in the TEFL industry. If you’re just about to start your TEFL career, there is a lot to consider. But, one thing is clear, nothing beats hearing first-hand experience from those who have been there and done that. Even better is hearing directly from someone who’s currently teaching somewhere on your bucket list. If you’ve completed your TEFL qualification, you may be wondering what’s next? How will you land that coveted well-paying teaching position in South Korea? This is your chance to hear from people who are continuously hiring teachers around the world. Or perhaps you’ve taught in many countries before, are looking to make a transition back to your home country, and are out of ideas on how to go about it? Well, many have walked your path, and plenty of them will be joining us to present their knowledge.
Yes, it is absolutely FREE to attend the event. However, only 5,000 tickets will be made available after which registrations will be closed.
While participation will be free, we can only cater for a certain number of participants. It’s important to register to reserve your seat. Please note that we only allow one ticket per user. If you’d like to register for multiple people, you can reach out to our support team for assistance.
1. Empower future teachers
One, we’re in the business of education. That often means our teachers uprooting their lives to make a difference in the lives of many around the world by teaching them English so they can have access to opportunities that would otherwise be inaccessible. With this International TEFL Day, we want to flip the script, and give our future teachers an opportunity to learn from the experts in the community who have seen it and done it before - and probably got the t-shirt!2. Raise awareness of illiteracy
Two, we want to raise awareness that there are still many in the world today who still don’t have access to basic education. As such, we’ve partnered with United World Schools (UWS), a charity organisation that seeks to eradicate education poverty around the world, to raise this awareness and encourage everyone to join us in making this difference.United World Schools (UWS) is a UK-registered charity working to ensure children living in the world's most remote and marginalised communities have access to quality, inclusive education. The charity collaborates with local communities and governments to build schools, train teachers and strengthen education systems. To date, UWS has opened a total of 311 new schools, trained over 1,500 teachers, and given educational opportunities to more than 63,000 previously out-of-school children across Cambodia, Myanmar (Burma), Madagascar, and Nepal. We, The TEFL Academy, have partnered with UWS since 2021. In that time, our students’ donations helped to build and maintain UWS Kanpur school in Nepal. Currently, there are 165 students enrolled at UWS Kanpur, from kindergarten to Grade 8. There are 13 teachers currently teaching at UWS Kanpur School. You can contribute to the cause here.
