A degree can be helpful to finding a TEFL job but it’s not essential. There are many countries where you can find work teaching English without a degree – and online as well.
When it comes to face-to-face teaching, consider volunteer teaching or a TEFL internship. Or look for jobs in countries which don’t require a degree for visa purposes – Turkey, Mexico, Spain are a few options. You can also teach privately.
If you are looking at teaching online, again you can find private students or you can apply at companies which are open to non-graduates.
If you don’t have a degree, don’t give up! The important thing in TEFL is experience, so all you need is your first job to get your feet in the classroom, and it’ll be easier to find jobs after that.
