Education
I started studying in 2014 but because of various constraints, I had to pause the completion of my degree.
Last year, I decided to complete my degree. I have 90% of the module requirements and will be expected to graduate by December 2024.
I am qualified to teach adults after completing this Higher Certificate.
Experience
Teaching speaking lessons to learners in Turkey and Israel. Currently I am teaching Grades 1 - 9. I enjoy showing up at each and every lesson with a positive attitude and teaching lessons in a humorous and energetic way.
My specialty is creating a calm and comfortable online classroom, where learners develop the confidence to share their thoughts and opinions freely while connecting with their teacher and other learners.
I have more than 10 years experience teaching in traditional classrooms all around South Africa.
I have mainly taught languages (English as a Home and Additional Language and Afrikaans). In addition to this, I have also taught Natural Sciences and Technology.
Teaching in South African schools has taught me a lot of patience, but mostly (and more importantly) how to teach in a classroom where students have different levels of understanding as well as different language needs.
I am also well suited to handle any class, even if there are behavioral challenges, since I have a calm and nurturing personality that inspires my learners to be calm while having lots of fun, learning!
Accreditation & Quality Assurance
The TEFL Academy was the world’s first TEFL course provider to receive official recognition from government regulated awarding bodies in both the USA and UK. This means when you graduate you’ll hold a globally recognised Level 3 (120hr) Certificate or Level 5 (168hr) Diploma, meaning you can find work anywhere and apply for jobs immediately.
