Teaching in The Middle East
The Middle East provides some of the best salaries and living conditions for English teachers in the world. Schools and colleges in the Middle East often look for experience and competition is high.
Wages in the Middle East represent some of the most lucrative opportunities for TEFL teachers. Living standards in the Middle East for TEFL teachers are very high, as a result there is fierce competition for most positions.
Many schools in the Middle East will require experience from their TEFL teachers. For these positions, teachers will typically interview in advance from their home country. First-time teachers will find more opportunities in countries like Turkey, Egypt and Morocco, where salaries and benefits are more modest, but the cost of living is low and the experience of living in one of the world’s most historic and culturally rich societies is second to none.
The months leading to the beginning of the school year in late August and September offer the most opportunities for hiring in the Middle East.
