How satisfied were you with the classroom element of the course?
A.
Having commenced with the online training a few weeks ago, the classroom session put many aspects into perspective for me. What was nice, I already knew some of the terms, studied in the first 5 units, and it was great to get a practical feel of it. It was really awesome to see how lesson plans "come alive" and also to participate and interact with other students. Another great thing about the classroom session was that we had to create lesson plans and then teach our fellow students, utilizing our plans. This gave a sense of what to expect in a real life teaching environment. We also received feedback on what we were doing well and what areas required development-this was very helpful.

Our Tutor was amazing, friendly, knowledgeable, energetic and very professional. She got everyone participating. I loved the games that we played which were relevant leading into each section. I also loved that she gave feedback after we had delivered our practical lessons. It was extremely insightful.

It was really helpful to meet with fellow students and a tutor face to face. I felt encouraged in my self paced learning, picking up tips for lesson planning and applying to schools. Especially getting an understanding of the various school cultures and things to note for the TEFL lifestyle abroad. I felt energized afterwards to continue with my self paced learning knowing that others are in the same boat as well.

James is a great TEFL tutor. He holds all the attributes I hope to be as a teacher. Calm, confident, reassuring and encouraged a positive learning space for us. He gave really useful and relevant activities throughout the day. He also kept it interactive by getting us to physically move around the room and mix with different students. I thought the Latvian language lesson was a perfect example in teaching how to elicit target language with good props as well.

Each unit within this course was well explained with relevant examples and references. I understood each lesson well. Each lesson goes in depth about what you are teaching and how to teach them to learners. I feel confident in what I have learnt about teaching English to go out and teach others.
