Description
As part of our mission at Victory Afghanistan, we are currently seeking 6 experienced IELTS tutors to help our 46 dedicated mentees prepare for their English proficiency exams, an essential step for accessing international education opportunities and building independent futures.
Due to the closure of official British Council test centres in Afghanistan, we are actively working to secure funding so our students can take their exams in Pakistan at the end of this year. This provides a clear and urgent goal: help them reach their target IELTS score of 6.5• by December 2025.
About the Role:
- Teach 2x one-hour lessons per week to a small group of 4–6 students
- Spend up to 2 additional hours per week preparing lessons, reviewing work, and handling admin
- Lessons will be delivered online (Google Meet), with support from our admin team
- Classes will run for 20 weeks from July to November 2025
About the Students:
- All students are Afghan girls aged 17–22 who have completed our advanced English programme
- Their current IELTS-equivalent level ranges from 5.5 to 6.0, and they are near fluency
- They are highly motivated and committed to passing the IELTS exam to pursue scholarships and international study
Teaching Approach:
- We aim to provide a basic IELTS curriculum, but you are encouraged to bring your own teaching style, and curate your own assignments, mock exams, and skill-building activities
- Emphasis will be placed on test-taking strategies, writing structure, speaking fluency, and listening accuracy
