She has been teaching for 20 years. Judy spent 3 years in Taiwan where she taught English as a Foreign language from pre-primary level to business executives, teachers and preparing students for MCAT exams. The experience was life changing. She is also presently involved in developing study skills workshops. In addition to this, she also runs study skills workshops for adults and younger learners, concentrating on the Language used in exams and textbooks with the view to a greater understanding of exam practice. She feels all learning should be interactive, engaging and most importantly pupil-centred. She says, “From my experience, most problems in learning begin with a lack of understanding the language used. TEFL training helps to put the language in context and makes learning a new language engaging. I believe the training course should aim to make the trainee’s confident in their abilities and to give them an opportunity for them to develop their skills.
