Istanbul is where East meets West. It’s on both sides of the Bosphorus Strait separating Asia from Europe. The town is also split into the old quarter which is filled with narrow cobbled streets and the new town which is where you’ll find restaurants, clubs and bars. Istanbul will suit you if you want to teach English as a foreign language in a lively city with plenty of things to see and do in your free time.

There are ferries, buses and even a cycle share system so that you can get around the city on two wheels.

  • Teach English in Turkey: Ankara

Ankara is the capital of Turkey and is in the centre of the country. It’s the second largest city in Turkey. Like Izmir it is a university town and a centre of commerce. That means there are plenty of students around who want to learn to speak English. You get around Ankara by metro or bus. When you have some free time visit Ulus if you want to see some historic sites close to home.
