Description
At Tamaki TEFL Recruitment (TTR), we currently have 2 types of roles available in either the public school sector or the private sector (language schools). Once we receive your application, TTR will contact you directly to recommend which role may be best suited! Please check your emails in all folders just in case! Once you confirm, we will introduce you to the company in China where an interview will be arranged.
For the public school roles: We represent one of the biggest teaching companies in China. They are very reputable as they are sponsored and certified by the Ministry of Foreign Expert’s Bureau of the People’s Republic of China. Teachers will get to experience fun, cultural, and immersive teaching experiences at local public schools – we have positions in major cities as well as more suburban roles.
We have many varied positions for immediate start as well as year round whenever there are vacancies. The roles are from Kindergarten, Primary, Middle and High Schools and we have both ESL/TEFL positions as well as Subject teaching roles, which is why the salary can vary depending on the role as well as the applicant’s teaching experience and qualifications. The teaching hours are normally Monday to Friday (with weekends off) from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon then from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
For the private sector roles: For over 30 years this company has been highly respected. They are well-established and they are an excellent company to work for, especially if you are new to teaching or newly graduated from university! They have locations in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Foshan and Fuzhou, and they seek teachers who enjoy working with children ages 3-16 years old in a high energy setting. This role is very high energy and teachers are expected to sing songs, play active games and engage learners in an interactive style of teaching. Teachers work at the weekends and have 2 consecutive days off during the weekday. Weekend schedule is from around 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and during the weekday teachers may start around 1:00 pm to early evening shift.

- Full assistance with opening a Chinese bank account, getting enrolled on the Chinese health insurance, welfare support throughout the contract term. These companies really look after their teachers! Please note that the company in China will conduct the full interview stages and support with the visa process. RequirementsFor public sector role:
- Bachelor's degree or higher (for some of our roles we prefer if the applicant has a related major such as in Education, TEFL, English, English Literature etc.)
- Due to visa requirements, we can only accept applicants that hold passports from Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom (U.K) and the United States of America (U.S.A)
- A 120 hour TEFL certification minimum
- For most of our positions we require a total of 24 months of teaching experience or more; this doesn’t have to be all in one school or company as it can be mixed/varied as long as there are reference letters too and that it adds up to 24 months total. For some of the roles we may require a degree related to English/literature/education etc. and/or PGCE.

- Bachelors degree holder in any major or field. Fresh graduates with no experience are welcome!
