Poland is part of eastern Europe and it’s on the Baltic coast. It’s got a rich history and there’s plenty to see and do in your free time. There’s a high demand for TEFL qualified teachers in Poland.  But, If you decide to teach English as a foreign language in Poland and you’re not from an EEC country, you will need a university degree to get a work permit. The degree will have to be translated and notarised.

Salaries are about average. You probably won’t be able to save if you work in Poland, but you should be able to live comfortably. Wages are around $600 to $1000 a month. Most TEFL teachers find it cheaper to share an apartment with a colleague away from the centre of the city.

Warsaw for TEFL qualified teachers

Warsaw is the capital of Poland. It’s a sprawling city filled with architecture from many different styles. Its most famous building is the Palace of Culture and Science which stands at 800 feet tall. The city is cut in half by the Vistula river, which is the largest in Poland. It will suit you as a TEFL qualified English language teacher if you love a busy bustling city.

Gdansk for TEFL qualified teachers

Gdansk is on the river Motlawa. It is close to the cities of Spot and Gdynia. These three cities are known as the trojmiasto (tri-city). It’s a great place to live if you want to be on the coast as it has some lovely sandy beaches. Gdansk old town is popular with tourists who come to see the museums and learn about its history in WWII.

Poznan for TEFL qualified teachers

Poznan is to the west of Poland on the Warta river. It’s a city with plenty of green spaces and interesting architecture. There’s a good transport system of buses and trams to help you get around the city and to and from work. It’s perfect for a TEFL qualified English language teacher who wants a mix of city life and country living.

Wroclaw for TEFL qualified teachers

Wroclaw in west Poland, is on the banks of the river Oder. It’s popular with German tourists due to its proximity to the German border. It’s also a business and an academic centre, so there are plenty of opportunities for TEFL qualified English language teachers.

Krakow for TEFL qualified teachers

Krakow is a medieval city in southern Poland close to the border of the Czech Republic. If you love to explore and take in museums this is the place for you. It is crammed with history and you’ll find places to visit on almost every street corner. It’s also full of parks and green spaces so if you want to get away from the noise of the city you can.

Lodz for TEFL qualified teachers

Lodz is in the centre of Poland and it used to be famous for the manufacture of textiles. It’s now a thriving area filled with entrepreneurs and artists who are converting the city into a lively, bustling community. It’s a good place for TEFL qualified English language teachers. It’s got a university and good connections to other major cities.
