- Q. How satisfied you were with the classroom element of the course? A. My classroom experience was excellent from the start. Our teacher Sheila was not only professional and well-informed about what she needed to teach us; she was also very warm, had a good sense of humour and didn't allow anything (namely the hotel's malfunctioning wifi and screen-presenter) to deter her from teaching us. The lessons were engaging and fun which made the ten hours each day fly by. Now I can honestly say that I have learned so much more than I thought I would - I almost wish that the classroom course was longer!
- Q. How satisfied you were with your TEFL Tutor? A. Our teacher Mrs. Sheila was amazing. She was not only professional and well-informed about what she needed to teach us; but she was also very warm with a good sense of humour and didn't allow anything to deter her from teaching us. Her lessons were engaging and fun which made the ten hours each day fly by.
- Q. How satisfied you were with the classroom element of the course? A. Yohan (I believe his surname is Steenkamp) was the tutor for the weekend. He comes from a creative, stage-related background with many years of experience teaching at all levels in various different countries. It was this experience that was so interesting and valuable. He explained the nuances of the Chinese language and how that influences the way they pronounce, speak and learn English; he gave very practical advice about classroom management, how lessons need to be tailored to eliciting information from students with minimum 'traditional teacher-orientated' interactions. He gave immediate feedback to our groups during and after the teaching practice sessions - this was so valuable. Most of the 26 TEFL students had not taught before, and they also felt his practical advice was valid and interesting. As regards the script he followed, I think the workshop could have covered more aspects of teaching that are not in the online course. Why have a workshop that covers the same information that we have read and studied in the online course? I agree that some of the grammar was good to revise as English is complex, but perhaps a more creative course designer could think of other interesting things to discuss in the workshop environment.
- Q. How satisfied you were with your TEFL Tutor? A. Yohan took his work with us very seriously and really listened to each person or group as they presented their practical teaching opportunities. His manner was open and yet not too familiar. His anecdotes were personal and very appropriate to what was being discussed.
- Q. How satisfied you were with the classroom element of the course? A. Georgina was a fantastic teacher, she gave us very great and useful tips, advice and feedback after our teaching practices. Our group was very friendly and we quickly created a nice atmosphere but, it was the way we were taught and guided by Georgina what really helped to not only learn lots but to be motivated at all the times (even on Sunday morning with grammar lessons).
- Q. How satisfied you were with your TEFL Tutor? A. Because she was the main reason why the course was nice and easy, lessons were taught clearly and in detail for us to understand how does it feels when you are the one teaching. And, because she was incredibly genuine, friendly and professional at all the times, allowing us to express ourselves freely without being judged or putting pressure over us. -She is just brilliant!
- Q. How satisfied you were with the classroom element of the course? A. The tutor, Joseph- was a person with personality, charisma, wit and sense of humor. I expressed my gratitude to him after it was all finished. 20h in 2 days could've been a struggle in the course was led by someone with lesser attributes. He kept it interesting, varied, insightful and snappy. I don't think there was a single person not happy with how he handled everything. As for the course itself, I've been out schooling for a long time and have no other courses to compare it to. I enjoyed it. I found it dense, but not over bearing for me. Thank You.
- Q. How satisfied you were with your TEFL Tutor? A. As I said before. The tutor, Joseph- had charisma, personality wit and a sense of humor. Along with understanding of different people and class dynamics. My hats off to him. It would've been a very different ride with someone less gifted in charge. He made it enjoyable and I thanked him after we were finished.
- Q. How satisfied you were with the classroom element of the course? A. I really liked the classroom element of the course. My tutor was brilliant and very informative. It was great to be in a classroom environment and I felt I learned more as a result.
- Q. How satisfied you were with your TEFL Tutor? A. I was very happy with my TEFL tutor. He really mingled with the class and was very informative. He had a great sense of humour and was able to put everyone at ease. He was able to involve the whole class in activities and I learned a lot from him.
- Q. How satisfied you were with the classroom element of the course? A. I thought the classroom element was really valuable, not only met my expectations in terms of the content delivered but also in terms of all the tips provided and invaluable experience knowledge shared throughout the sessions. I think it was specially good to have the opportunity to experience a bit of teaching ourselves by applying the techniques and leanings we had covered during the day and have feedback on that. That was really valuable. I am very glad I took the in classroom session option and I definitely feel more encourage after doing it.
- Q. How satisfied you were with your TEFL Tutor? A. Corin was excellent and very professional at all times. Even though the two days were quite intense in terms of hours and content, it did not feel like a burden and I think we need to thank Corin for that. He did a great job in in keeping us engaged at all times, and I think we all learnt a lot from him on how a class is well delivered. His tips, feedback and encouragement were really valuable.
