DescriptionCofradia's Bilingual School is located in Cofradia, Honduras, about 45 minutes outside of San Pedro Sula. Our mission is to offer an affordable or free bilingual education to the community of Cofradia, providing our students the opportunity to create brighter futures. Through a bilingual education, they are able to get higher-paying jobs in the future, allowing them to break the cycle of poverty for themselves and their families.
We are looking for passionate, motivated volunteers who want to help make a difference in our students' lives. Our volunteers work with our Honduran staff to provide a high-quality, well-rounded education to our students.
We teach preschool through 11th grade and are currently recruiting for our 2025-2026 school year (Aug-June).
For August 2025 -June 2026, we are looking for in-person volunteer willing to make at least a 3-month commitment to the school.
We do not require prior teaching experience or Spanish language skills. We are interested in passionate people who are willing to work hard to help our students. We provide curriculums, textbooks and resources, as well as teacher training to help our volunteers become effective ESL teachers.
We ask that volunteers make at least a 3-month commitment to the school. Preference is given to volunteers willing to make a 10-month commitment. -
Benefits- We provide volunteers with housing in a shared volunteer house just 5 minutes from the school. The housing includes several shared rooms, a fully equipped kitchen and several bathrooms
- Volunteers receive breakfast and lunch at school
- A 160 US$ monthly stipend
- We also provide transportation to and from the airport or bus terminal
- Additionally, we cover any costs associated with visa extensions, as well as any medical expenses incurred while working with the school -
