Top Romantic TEFL Destinations

They say that “It doesn’t matter where you are going, but who you have beside you”, but we’d like to politely disagree. Of course it matters who you are with, but for us where you are going is equally important – especially if you are going there with a special someone.

Let’s face it, travelling with a significant other is a sure way to test the relationship. Getting lost, not understanding the language, eating strange food – these are all everyday occurrences in a foreign country and only a solid relationship can survive the stress that comes with travelling. Now imagine what it’s like to not only travel together but to live together in a foreign country!

That’s why we say, why not choose somewhere romantic for your TEFL adventure? Because after a frustrating day of culture shock, there’s nothing like a cocktail on the beach or a romantic walk in a beautiful neighbourhood to make you feel a bit better.

So here are our top romantic TEFL destinations, just to give your relationship the best shot!

What is more romantic than cherry blossom season in Japan? Not much that we can think of, that’s for sure. A far cry from the crazy that is Tokyo, Kyoto is a beautifully romantic place to live, with lush public gardens, imperial palaces, Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples dotted all over the town.

Paris is not known as the city of love for nothing. A city known to attract writers, artists and general free spirits, you can’t get much more romantic than cobblestone streets, a cruise on the river Seine and that view from the Eiffel Tower.

Prague, Czech Republic

While it may not be Eastern Europe’s best-kept secret anymore, this doesn’t detract from its romanticism. Buenos Aires, Argentina

It’d be difficult to find a nation more fiery than the Argentinians. So it’s not surprising they came up with one of the most romantic and passionate dances there is: the tango. And the only thing more romantic than watching a tango show is learning to dance the tango, which is a must-do for any couple in this city.

Florence, Italy

Italy will always be found on any list of romantic destinations, but Florence simple oozes romance. Strolling through one of the many piazzas in the evening, when the setting sun turns this historic city gorgeous shades of gold and pink – nothing could be more romantic.
