Should I do a Level 3 or a Level 5 TEFL?

A Level 3 TEFL course may be more attractive because it’s cheaper and less of a time commitment, however, we only recommend a Level 3 course if you are sure your TEFL adventure is going to be a short-term stint or a more informal situation, like volunteering. The thing with TEFL is you never know where you may end up. You might start teaching online from your mom’s couch in Kimberley, but next year you could teaching kindergarten in Japan. A Combined Level 5 TEFL or an online-only Level 5 TEFL is a more widely accepted qualification. It is recommended for TEFL teachers who are looking into long-term,more formal TEFL contracts. If you are not sure where your TEFL adventures may take you, a Level 5 is the right option for you. In this sense, a Level 5 TEFL course is worth the higher price tag.
Accreditation & Quality Assurance
The TEFL Academy was the world’s first TEFL course provider to receive official recognition from government regulated awarding bodies in both the USA and UK. This means when you graduate you’ll hold a globally recognised Level 3 (120hr) Certificate or Level 5 (168hr) Diploma, meaning you can find work anywhere and apply for jobs immediately.
