Teaching On All Right: What You Need To Know

Join a global community of over 200,000 TEFL teachers working throughout the world! Enrol me!

With the plethora of online platforms offering English language lessons to learners and teaching positions to English teachers and tutors, it is difficult to know which online teaching companies are legit.

We’re going to get to the bottom of this by asking those who know best: the teachers themselves.

In this series, we’ll talk to teachers currently teaching online in 2025 and ask them the important questions.

Meet Aida, an All Right tutor

Aida profile

Hi! My name is Aida, I’m 23 years old, and I hold a Level 5 TEFL certificate as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

Online English teaching entered my life more than two years ago as an opportunity to give back and share with students worldwide what I received from my teachers throughout my own academic life: confidence, support, and academic, professional and personal development.

It has allowed me to enjoy the flexibility of staying at home or exploring the world, while learning about my students’ cultures.

Over the past two years, I’ve worked for an online language school in Mexico, teaching students aged 8 to 12. I also worked for All Right for a few months in 2024, mainly teaching students aged 4 to 16 across all levels.

Currently, I teach at Flalingo and give private tutoring sessions, working with students aged 4 to 70.

Why did you choose All Right teaching platform?

When I first started teaching, I realised I wanted to be the type of teacher I looked up to when I was a student.

I remember those teachers as the ones who made their lessons interesting, funny, and so relaxed that I didn’t even notice I was learning, but I was — a lot!

That, along with my experience as an online student, helped me understand what works and what doesn’t when learning through a screen. It shaped me into a teacher who prioritises creating an anxiety-free learning space, where learning is enjoyable because it feels like playing or casual conversation, without constantly stopping for rules, and allows students to speak authentically. This has become the foundation of my teaching style.

With that being said, I was looking for a platform where my teaching style would be a good fit. I tend to avoid environments that are too rigid, overly formal, or too impersonal. Instead, I prefer approaches that feel more natural and encouraging.

What caught my attention about All Right was its strongly game-based method focused on Young Learners, which aligned very well with the type of interactive lessons I enjoy teaching.

What was your experience on All Right?

I worked with All Right for a couple of months in 2024.

Overall, I really enjoyed the experience and found it very valuable for working online with children and teenagers. I really liked the provided materials and enjoyed using the platform.

One of my favourite things about it was that it had some features that let you reward students with stars, videos or songs. And it wasn’t only me who liked it — kids absolutely loved it!

Surprisingly, even some teenagers found this rewarding system fun and motivating too.

The students were very sweet and enthusiastic, which made lessons feel easy and made teaching them a lot of fun.

Is it easy to start teaching on All Right?

The All Right application process itself is very simple, intuitive and user-friendly.

I answered some questions and recorded a short demo lesson directly on the platform.

Once I was accepted, I went through their enrollment guide and initial teacher training. They introduced their platform, teaching method, and the characters that are part of the lessons.

Then, I had an onboarding session and another training session.

The only minor challenge I encountered was that the available time slots for these two calls were quite limited. Since I was in Mexico, most of them fell at midnight for me. I still managed to find times that worked, but it was something I had to adjust to.

Once I completed everything, setting up my profile and schedule was fairly easy, as was getting my first students. From what I remember, it took less than a week!

Does All Right allocate students to you?

Students get to choose their teachers.

You set your available time slots, which the platform generally encourages to fall during peak hours, and students choose from those options.

One thing I really liked was that, at the beginning, the platform promotes new teachers, increasing their profile visibility, which helps them build an initial student base more easily.

What is the salary on All Right?

Teachers are paid a fixed rate per lesson. During my time working there, there were also some performance-based bonuses.

Payments are made every two weeks, and the platform doesn’t take any commission.

However, I’d suggest keeping in mind that fees from some payment processors (such as PayPal or Wise) could apply.

What  does a typical day look like for an All Right teacher?

When I worked with the platform, the expected availability was 15 hours a week, 6 of which were during the weekend. I’d usually start at 7:30 am and finish around 1:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

Some days I’d start later and finish around 5:00 pm or 6:00 pm, with breaks between lessons depending on my schedule. On weekends, I worked a few hours in the morning and a few more in the afternoon to complete my weekly teaching hours.

Preparation didn’t take long because the materials and lesson plans were provided.

Once I became familiar with these resources, preparation became even faster. Most lessons followed these materials, but occasionally, some were conversational, especially with advanced teens.

There’s no paperwork to complete after lessons — just a short feedback form and a small progress update for each student, which was very manageable and never overwhelming.

What are the students like on All Right?

The students are really lovely, lively, and easy to work with. I taught across all proficiency levels and ages between 4 and 16, so every lesson felt unique.

All lessons were 1:1, and most of my students were regulars.

I did teach an adult student once, but mostly I worked with children or teenagers whose parents encouraged them to learn, practice and improve their English.

How does the student feedback system work?

Students can leave reviews and rate teachers using a 5-star system. These ratings appear on your profile and are visible to students, so they play a role in how parents and new students choose a teacher. But honestly, I didn’t find this to be a problem when I first started.

Even with a completely new profile and no reviews yet, students gave me a chance.

Is teaching on All Right sustainable as a full-time job?

Even though the platform had enough student demand to potentially fill a full-time schedule, whether it works as a full-time job depends on your context, financial expectations and lifestyle. Personally, I found it better suited as a side job.

Did you experience any technical issues on All Right?

I sometimes experienced technical issues. For example, once my screen started flickering and my student appeared offline, even though they were connected. There were also times when I couldn’t hear or see the student.

However, the All Right staff was always very responsive and kind. They would explain the situation and guide me through solutions.

There was also the option to switch to Zoom if the platform wasn’t working properly. So while technical problems did occur, alternatives and support were both available.

Does All Right offer support to teachers?

Yes, they do.

In addition to the onboarding process, which I honestly think gives you a solid base for understanding how All Right’s method, platform and lessons work, additional training materials were also available.

Something I really appreciated was the pre–made materials and lesson plans. I didn’t have to create anything from scratch! This made preparation and following All Right’s teaching method easier.

You don’t directly report to anyone, but occasionally All Right staff send you a friendly message with feedback about your classes, including advice, recommendations, or congratulations on your performance.

I found the regular staff feedback helpful as it helped me see my strengths and areas to improve, helping me grow as a teacher.

There wasn’t a built-in teacher community on the platform, but the training call allowed you to interact with other teachers, which gave a nice sense of connection.

Would you recommend All Right?

Since the platform is strongly focused on children and teenagers and it provides game-based materials tailored to these age groups, I would recommend All Right for teachers who:

  • genuinely enjoy working with Young Learners,
  • have a relaxed, playful, game-based teaching approach, and
  • prefer a high-energy teaching style.

On the other hand, if you prefer mainly teaching adults, this platform might not be the best match. While you could totally adapt your classes for adult learners, the reality is that the platform’s main target is clearly Young Learners.

I didn’t continue using the platform due to personal circumstances that eventually made it difficult to maintain the required schedule. Considering where I am professionally now, and that I enjoy teaching adults as much as Young Learners, I don’t see myself returning to it at the moment.

However, I really enjoyed my time with All Right — the students were wonderful and the staff were always kind and supportive. I’m genuinely grateful for the experience and valuable skills it gave me.
