With our TEFL courses in Barcelona, we provide a Combined Level 5 TEFL Course (168 hours) right on your doorstep. The course is broken down into two parts: a classroom course and an online course. The classroom course takes a total of 10 hours to complete over 1 day of training with our knowledgeable TEFL tutors at the Hotel NH Barcelona Eixample. The online course can be started before or after your classroom training. If you need any assistance, you can always get help from our committed team of online TEFL experts.
During the classroom TEFL course in Barcelona, you’ll get the chance to talk to our experienced trainer and meet other students on the TEFL course. You’ll learn about the practicalities of teaching, including classroom management and become classroom confident with 6-hours of peer to peer teaching practice. A separate 10-hour Teaching Practice Certificate will be awarded on completion.
The online portion of the course is 158 hours and takes on average four to six weeks to complete. Depending on your own schedule, you can take up to a maximum of six months to complete the course. This part of the course covers the theory of TEFL in more detail, such as teaching methods and grammar.
Our course is regulated by Ofqual (UK government) and awarded by Qualifi, a UK government-recognised awarding body. Our Level 5 TEFL Course is DEAC-approved as meeting the criteria for Approved Quality Curriculum (AQC) status. The DEAC is a U.S. Department of Education National Accreditor.
We will award you with a Level 5 TEFL Diploma (168 hours) upon completion of the course.The course is an internationally recognised certificate, that’s been approved as the same level as the following qualifications: a diploma of higher education (DipHE), a foundation degree and the CELTA and Trinity CertTESOL qualifications and is regulated by Ofqual (UK government). Once obtained, you can start to look for a suitable post on our TEFL Jobs Board. We also offer you the opportunity to specialise in your chosen field of teaching English. All enrolments on our level 5 course include three free 30-hour top-up courses in Teaching Young Learners, Teaching Business English and Teaching Online & 1:1. You will be provided with a unique discount code with your booking confirmation email which can be redeemed against each course.

With so much choice and such a vast amount of conflicting information available on the Internet, it can be difficult for potential TEFL course students to make the correct choice. The Level 5 version of our TEFL course is a more in-depth overview of TEFL and is a good choice if you wish to gain formal teaching jobs, which usually include accommodation, flight reimbursements and help in gaining a work visa. Upon completion, you will be awarded an internationally recognised Level 5 TEFL Diploma (168 hours), which is regulated by Ofqual (UK government) and DEAC-Approved (US Department of Education National Accreditor).
A regulated Level 5 qualification means that Ofqual (UK government) has approved the qualification to be at a recognised level of achievement. Our Level 5 TEFL Diploma (168hrs) is the same level as the following qualifications: a diploma of higher education (DipHE), a foundation degree and the CELTA and Trinity CertTESOL qualifications.
We also offer a Level 3 version of our course, which is an introduction to TEFL and is perfect for anyone looking for casual work teaching English, such as volunteering, backpacking or finding work “in-country”, and some online teaching roles. It requires less of a time commitment (120 hrs) and is more cost-effective, so it can be a way of fast-tracking into the industry for someone with a short-term teaching plan. The course you should choose depends entirely on your own situation, needs and teaching plans.

The simple answer is, we just don't know! Recruiters offering the best opportunities with the most competitive packages are now asking for level 5 TEFL qualifications. All regulated level 5 courses are 150hrs+ in length. We have never seen a single employer ask for more than 168hrs of TEFL training.
A Level 5 TEFL Diploma is the gold standard of TEFL qualifications, therefore we only offer this option for our Level 5 students.

When you hear about “levels” this refers to the UK government’s framework for qualifications. This framework allows learners studying UK government regulated qualifications to understand where their qualification sits in comparison to other qualifications. A regulated level 5 qualification means that Ofqual (UK government), have approved the qualification to be at a recognised level of achievement. Our Level 5 TEFL Diploma (168hrs) is the same level as the following qualifications: a diploma of higher education (DipHE), a foundation degree and the CELTA and Trinity CertTESOL qualifications.
A TEFL Diploma is simply a slightly higher level of qualification than a "Certificate". It means you will have completed a more in-depth TEFL course.
Any qualification that is officially recognised by the UK government will sit on the Ofqual Register of Regulated Qualifications. Make sure to ask your course provider to provide a link to the register for their qualification.

You may see cheap TEFL courses advertised online that claim to be a “level”, such as “Level 5 140-Hour TEFL Course” (often advertised on daily deal websites), unfortunately these courses are not the level they claim to be and are highly misleading.
The level of a course tells learners where the qualification sits on the UK’s Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). If a course is not listed on the Register of Regulated Qualifications, then it is not really a level at all. You can find our qualification on the register here.
Make sure you ask any TEFL training provider that claims to be offering a “level” of TEFL course to provide a link to the Register of Regulated Qualifications. If they cannot provide this, then the qualification is not the level they claim it to be and will not be accepted by foreign embassies and employers.
TEFL and TESOL are both acronyms for teaching English to non-native English speakers. Both acronyms can be used to describe qualifications which certify you to teach English as a foreign language. To a large extent, "TEFL" and "TESOL" are used interchangeably.
