A regulated qualification means that it is officially recognised by government and sits on the Ofqual Register of Regulated Qualifications. You can view our qualification on the Ofqual register here.
When you hear about “levels” this refers to the UK government’s framework for qualifications. This framework allows learners studying UK government regulated qualifications to understand where their qualification sits in comparison to other qualifications. A regulated level 5 qualification means that Ofqual (UK government), have approved the qualification to be at a recognised level of achievement. Our Level 5 TEFL Certificate (168hrs) is the same level as the following qualifications: a diploma of higher education (DipHE), a foundation degree and the CELTA and Trinity CertTESOL qualifications.
Choosing to study a regulated qualification is your guarantee of quality. Course providers offering regulated qualifications must comply with very tough quality assurance rules and procedures. This ensures that:
You may see cheap TEFL courses advertised online that claim to be a “level”, such as “Level 5 140-Hour TEFL Course” (often advertised on daily deal websites), unfortunately these courses are not the level they claim to be and are highly misleading.
The level of a course tells learners where the qualification sits on the UK’s Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). If a course is not listed on the Register of Regulated Qualifications, then it is not really a level at all. You can find our qualification on the register here.
Make sure you ask any TEFL training provider that claims to be offering a “level” of TEFL course to provide a link to the Register of Regulated Qualifications. If they cannot provide this, then the qualification is not the level they claim it to be and will not be accepted by foreign embassies and employers.
Any qualification that is officially recognised by the UK government will sit on the Ofqual Register of Regulated Qualifications. Make sure to ask your course provider to provide a link to the register for their qualification.

A. Great to have opportunities to create elements of a lesson plan, implement them by teaching our peers, and get good feedback from the instructor. The communicative learning method requires classroom learning experience.
A. Very experienced, dedicated, and consistent with his approach. Really conveyed a good sense of how best to teach English as well as how not to teach it.
A. Her depth of knowledge was excellent. She obviously had a great deal of experience which was evident in the teaching. I even learnt some Klingon (er, I mean Hungarian)
A. Tunde was great - she was passionate about her subject and really gave us some great tips and feedback.
A. Our teacher, Tunde Buday, was amazing. Very thorough, clear, encouraging, inspirational.
A. Tunde was engaging, funny and extremely good at explaining complex and confusing aspects of English grammar and how to teach it e.g. the tenses. She managed to create an environment where everyone felt comfortable voicing their questions and interacting with each other - I never felt awkward despite being around complete strangers and being the youngest in the class! It was very obvious that her teaching skills were outstanding and I was eager to learn what I could from her to better myself.
A. Extremely organised communicative company and very organised efficient tutor in the classroom component. A wonderful professional lady with great listening skills and analytical skills.
A. I have no teaching experience, the classroom course gave me more confidence and made me realise my potential as a teacher Also having an in-classroom teacher also helped with understanding things better There was also some networking which is helpful as the other students were able to share their advice on what to do etc
A. The Classroom element was really above and beyond. I was nervous beforehand as I only saw the timetable, but did not have an idea of the teacher or other students. However, Tünde was an amazing teacher who was knowledgeable, approachable and friendly. Because the class was also a suitable number of people (around 21), it made it more of a friendly and safe environment to get to know other students and feel comfortable. The activities set out really helped to understand what has been taught in the different Units.
A. Tünde was exceptional: Friendly, knowledgeable, approachable and overall amazing. She made the effort to get to know everyone's names and made sure the classroom environment was a friendly and safe one for everyone to participate.
A. The classroom was a warm environment to learn in. Even though the people who made up the class varied in their skill set and experience, everyone was able to work together and have fun with the activities. I got many of my questions and doubts answered. The handouts and resources were very helpful and useful information. It was 20 hours well spent.
A. Our TEFL tutor made us feel very relaxed. She stressed that no question is a dumb question. She held our attention and had interesting experiences from her career in teaching to share. Time management was something she struggled with but she knows that. Everyone has something to work on :) But perhaps it added to the class being rigid free.
A. I found Jenny to be a very competent and friendly tutor; her extensive teaching experience definitely showed in her lessons. Her explanations were very clear and thorough. And the lesson material was interspersed with interesting and entertaining anecdotes. She engaged everyone in the class, often in a personalised way, which clearly showed that she considered her students on an individual level. I left the course with a much greater sense and understanding of the TEFL course and what I need to do to teach English abroad.
A. - I never got bored during the course; we were constantly engaged; interesting and entertaining anecdotes were effortlessly woven into the presentations - I really enjoyed the practical teaching tasks; having to work with a definite aim and time pressure really forced me to do my best - The explanations were very thorough and easy to understand - The mini Spanish lesson really illustrated to me how it is possible to teach solely in a language a class doesn't know
A. I was extremely satisfied as I learnt invaluable pearls of wisdom from Tünde that could only be gained from an 'in person' experience. Also being around other people learning the same thing and with similar goals was awesome.
A. Túnde is amazing!! She is extremely knowledgeable and conveyed her knowledge across to us in an easy, caring way.
